Finderne Ave: Somerset County Bridge No. G0803 on Finderne Avenue (CR 633), located between Union Avenue (Rt 28) and Foothill Road (near Rt 22), will be under construction for the next 9 months. The new bridge will be reconstructed in three separate stages, with through vehicular and pedestrian traffic maintained throughout the project. One lane northbound and one lane southbound will be maintained, with the exception of single day closures as required by the work.
Starting Tuesday, February 20, 2018, Stage 1 traffic control will be implemented at the center portion of Finderne Avenue, to allow for the demolition and replacement of the center portion of the existing bridge. Through traffic northbound/southbound will utilize the right lanes in each direction; motorists should follow the posted signs through the construction zone. The duration of Stage 1 (center work zone) will be approximately 3 months.
At intermittent times during the project (approximately once per month), a full road closure at the bridge with a posted detour will be implemented during off-peak daytime hours between 9AM and 3PM at various times during construction. Underground utility relocations at and adjacent to the project limits also will be performed during construction.
The County will provide updates during construction to provide advance notice for the various staged traffic shifts and nighttime detour schedules.
