You Can Protect Yourself and Others with CERT Training

The Bridgewater CERT team is staffed with volunteer members of the community who have received training in basic first aid, fire suppression, basic search and rescue and traffic control.  Members of the CERT team have also assisted the police department with at both pre-planned events and emergency responses.


On average, this CERT Program conducts the CERT Basic Training Course 1 time a year.

Local CERT Programs offer training to the general public and/or to particular groups in the community. This CERT Program holds classes for the following groups:

  • IS-100.a Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
  • IS-700.a National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction

  • Automatic External Defibrillation (AED)


A total of 2 CERTs have participated in 1 WMD/terrorism exercise for emergency personnel.
A total of 2 CERTs have participated in 1 natural disaster exercise for emergency personnel.
A total of 3 CERTs have participated in 2 medical emergency/strategic national stockpile exercises for emergency personnel.
A total of 2 CERTs have participated in 1 CERT-specific exercise.
