The Bridgewater Police Department and the Bridgewater Office of Emergency Management are aware of a confirmed 4.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred earlier today. As of now, no injures or damage has been reported. A confirmed aftershock occured around 6:00 pm. We ask you to not call 9-1-1 unless you have an actual emergency. Aftershocks can occur up to a week after the initial earthquake.
If you are experiencing issues with your utilities, contact your service provider unless there is an emergency.

NO PARKING ON EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES

Pursuant to the provisions of §§ 206-21 and 206-27.1, wherever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, no person shall park a vehicle upon either side of any of the streets or parts thereof listed below, and no person shall cause, permit, allow or suffer any vehicle owned by or driven by him to become stalled or immobile on any of the streets or parts thereof listed below because of failure of said vehicle to be equipped with snow tires or chains in good working order. Treat all downed power lines as if they are still live. Do not approach or touch any downed line. It is encouraged to charge all cell phones and have extra batteries in the event you lose power.
