The Bridgewater Police Department and the Bridgewater Office of Emergency Management are monitoring the winter weather forcast for Sunday into Monday, as well as the cold weather conditions for the coming week.
Here are the key messages for the dangerously cold weather this week:

Snow should continue through the evening hours this evening. After it ends though, areas of blowing snow will be possible late tonight generally for locations near and north of the Interstate 78 corridor. This could continue through the day time hours on Monday.

Dangerously cold conditions are expected. Nighttime/early morning minimum wind chill values below 0 ℉ are expected in Northwest New Jersey, the southern Poconos, Lehigh Valley, Berks County and the western suburbs in Southeast Pennsylvania stating tonight. For far southeastern Pennsylvania, Central and South Jersey, and Delmarva, minimum wind chill values are expected to be above 0 tonight, but below zero starting Monday night. Attached graphics are for forecast minimum wind chills tonight and Monday night.

The cold conditions, including day time high temperatures staying below freezing, is likely to continue through at least Thursday before we finally start to see a modest warmup at the end of the week.

The cold conditions will also have implications for marine interests. An increase in ice cover on area water ways is expected. Additionally, periods of freezing spray are likely on open waters, especially on the Atlantic coastal waters from tonight through Wednesday.

Pursuant to the provisions of §§ 206-21 and 206-27.1, wherever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, no person shall park a vehicle upon either side of any of the streets or parts thereof listed below, and no person shall cause, permit, allow or suffer any vehicle owned by or driven by him to become stalled or immobile on any of the streets or parts thereof listed below because of failure of said vehicle to be equipped with snow tires or chains in good working order. Treat all downed power lines as if they are still live. Do not approach or touch any downed line. It is encouraged to charge all cell phones and have extra batteries in the event you lose power.
