Bridgewater, NJ - On Friday, April 8, 2022 at 9:12 PM, officers responded to a single vehicle crash
at the intersection of Country Club Road and Talamini Road. The operator of the vehicle
was identified as 96 year old, Walter Ackner of Bridgewater. Ackner had been traveling
west on Talamini Road in a 2009 Lincoln MKZ. Ackner’s vehicle crossed through the
intersection of Country Club Road and struck a tree on the property of 671 County Club
Road. Ackner was alert and oriented after the crash but transported to the Robert Wood
Johnson Medical Center in Somerville, New Jersey to treat injuries sustained in the crash.
On April 10, 2022, the police department received notification that Ackner died while at
the hospital.
The crash is still under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department’s
Traffic Safety Bureau. Anyone with information is asked to contact, Officer Joseph
