April 23, 2025 - Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash on Woodlawn Ave

Bridgewater, NJ, - On Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:17 am, the Bridgewater Township Police Department responded to the report of a single motor vehicle crash into a guardrail, with the driver unresponsive.

 William Sullivan (age 53) of Bridgewater, NJ, was operating a 2018 Subaru CrossTrek, on Woodlawn Avenue, when he struck the curb and ran off the south side of the roadway. Sullivan’s vehicle travelled approximately 80 feet west on the concrete sidewalk, striking and driving on top of a galvanized traffic guardrail, where the vehicle came to rest.

Responding Bridgewater Township Police Officers/ EMT’s began CPR on Sullivan and he was subsequently transported to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset, via Somerville BLS 54-1. Sullivan was pronounced deceased, upon arrival at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset.

This crash is still under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
