Bridgewater, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Chief of Police John B. Mitzak announced the arrest of Jason Banks, age 21, of East Orange, New Jersey in relation to a Lewdness incident that occurred on Thursday August 1, 2024, located at a retail facility on Promenade Blvd.
Chief Mitzak stated that on August 1st, 2024, at approximately 7:21 p.m., Jason Banks was seen by the victim exposing his genital and gratifying himself in the toy isle of a retail facility on Promenade Blvd. Responding officers were able to obtain CCTV footage of the suspect and confirm the victim’s account of the event. On August 8th, 2024, Bridgewater Detectives located Jason Banks, conducted an interview, and he was subsequently arrested.
Chief Mitzak stated as a result of this investigation on August 8th, 2024, Jason Banks was charged with 4th degree Lewdness. Defendant Banks was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in this matter.
NOTE: The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
