July 24, 2024 - Bias Incident Arrest

The Bridgewater Township Chief of Police John B. Mitzak announced the arrest of Julian A. Dale, age 29, of Somerville, New Jersey in relation to a Bias Intimidation incident on Friday July 19, 2024, at the Al Falah Center. 

 

Chief Mitzak stated that on July 19th, 2024, at approximately 6:34 p.m., Julian Dale was seen driving a black Honda Civic bearing New Jersey registration onto the property of the Al Falah Center located at 881 US Highway 202/206.  Julian Dale then parked near the entrance to the mosque then left a short time later.   At approximately 7:00 p.m. an employee of the mosque observed bias graffiti spray painted on a pillar near the main entrance to the building.  On July 22, 2024, Bridgewater Detectives located Julian Dale, conducted an interview, and he was subsequently arrested.

 

Chief Mitzak stated as a result of this investigation on July 22, 2024, Julian Dale was charged with 4th degree Bias Intimidation and a disorderly person’s offence of Criminal Mischief.  Defendant Dale was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in this matter.    

  

            NOTE:  The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
