The Bridgewater Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on March 5th, 2025, at 2:11 a.m. The crash location was: U.S. Highway 22 west, near the Thompson Avenue exit ramp.
The vehicles involved in the crash were a Hyundai Elantra operated by Peter J. Della -Ventura (age 44) of North Plainfield, New Jersey. Della-Ventura had a front seat passenger in his vehicle, Moosade Z. Harris (age 26) of Plainfield, New Jersey. The second vehicle involved was a 2007 Freightliner towing a tanker trailer. The Freightliner was operated by Zachary J. Roslin (age 33) of Freehold, New Jersey.
The preliminary details of the crash are as follows: Roslin was exiting the Speedway gas station (1620 US-Hwy 22 W) onto Rt. 22 west. Della-Ventura was traveling on Rt. 22 west in the right lane. While both vehicles were in the right lane, the front of Della-Ventura’s vehicle struck the rear of Roslin’s tanker truck.
After the impact, the vehicles fused and became engulfed in flames. The vehicles traveled approximately 685 feet while stuck together and on fire. The driver of the tanker truck, (Roslin) came to a controlled stop on the shoulder of Rt. 22 west.
Officer Noah Allatt, who was on patrol near the crash scene, arrived shortly after. Officer Allatt identified that the driver of the striking vehicle, Della-Ventura, was unconscious and entrapped inside the burning vehicle. Officer Allat was able to rescue Della-Ventura from the burning vehicle. Della-Ventura’s passenger and Roslin exited their vehicles on their own.
Mutual aid from multiple agencies were utilized to assist in the investigation. The agencies include:
Members of the Finderne, Martinsville, and Green Knoll Volunteer Fire Department as well as Robert Wood Johnson Hospital’s Paramedics also responded to the scene to render aid. Members of the Martinsville and Green Knoll Rescue Squads also assisted with medical aid.
Della-Ventura and Harris were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
