Credo
Members of the Office of Emergency Management are committed to protect life and property and are dedicated to the concept of Emergency Management. Members are dedicated to the principle of Homeland Security for the United States, the security of Bridgewater Township and it’s resources, and most importantly, the safety of our citizens.
Mission Statement
To plan for and maintain a state of emergency preparedness in order to provide for and manage emergency operations to meet the needs of Bridgewater Township and its citizens.
To carry out emergency operations efficiently and diligently, whether addressing an act of criminality or terrorism or the effects of natural or man made disasters.
To develop response capabilities needed to coordinate Police, Fire, EMS, and Public Works emergency services designed to address the onset of or the effects of an emergency or disaster.
In the event of an emergency or disaster, conduct short term recovery operations to restore critical services to the Township and provide for basic needs of the public, and conduct long term recovery operations focused on restoring the community to its normal or improved state.
Carry out mitigation activities that reduce the undesirable effects of unavoidable hazards and reduce the probability of a disaster.
The Bridgewater CERT team is staffed with volunteer members of the community who have received training in basic first aid, fire suppression, basic search and rescue and traffic control. Members of the CERT team have also assisted the police department with at both pre-planned events and emergency responses.
Training:
On average, this CERT Program conducts the CERT Basic Training Course 1 time a year.
